October was 2.5 C warmer than normal but we're expecting some record cold now

Surprising no one who was still harvesting their gardens on October 31, this past month was unusually warm in Prince George — with an average mean temperature of 7 degrees C, compared to the average of 4.5 C, a 2.5 C increase.
Likewise, there was significantly less rain. Only 6.5 mm of precipitation fell, 10 per cent of the normal 63.3 mm. In both cases, the records go back to 1912.
Anyways, that warm streak has clearly broken and Environment Canada is now warning of -14 C temperature by next week so it’s time to bring your plants in.
