Oh, right — that’s what cold weather feels like. If you need a reminder of the importance of winter tires, a Dawson Creek police officer went to hospital after their police car flipped on black ice responding to an accident. Stay safe!
The Super Rookie
There is a lot of excitement over 17-year-old Terik Parascak of the Prince George Cougars, who was just named Rookie of the Week for the third time in four weeks. It’s pretty obvious why, too: Over the course of 12 games, he is the leading scorer in the entire WHL and — on paper at least — has had a better start than Connor Bedard who just got a profile in the New York Times as the most-hyped hockey player in recent history.
If you are like me and enjoy bandwagoning sports teams, this is a great time to start bandwagoning the Cougars. You can watch the video above, read a profile of Parascak here and then learn that the only players in the entire WHL to have more points than him are two other Cougars who play on the same line as him. It really does seem like it’s time for people to start either turning out to games, or get ready to lose the team, because if this sort of roster doesn’t get bums in seats, I’m not sure what will.
I somehow missed the fact we have a geodesic dome at the college:
I was driving past CNC yesterday and I saw this structure. Apparently it was built in 2019 and I am sure I must have known that at some point but it was erased from my memory. It looks very cool!
Moose season
The moose are out at UNBC. And in Fort St. John, they’ve moved into someone’s yard.
