On the CBC website this morning, I have a story about the reasons and consequences for Prince George being divided down the middle, politically, into two separate ridings. It was inspired in part by the comments section of this newsletter where a few commenters expressed their belief that the city would be better off as its own riding. You’ll have to read the story for more but it did give me the opportunity to finally visualize the 2015 election results in which the city split with the surrounding ridings:
For full transparency, though, the city went back to voting Conservative in 2019 and 2021, it was not an ongoing thing.

Northern Health says resources, reduced stigma needed to combat toxic drug crisis.
B.C. ministers urge residents to have go-bags, insurance before floods and wildfires.

Morning Andrew and readers! Two thoughts:
- Lies of a monarch's kickstarter was cancelled for various reasons :( info here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/georgiatouchette/lies-of-a-monarch/posts/4346023
- Would it be helpful to identify Paul Sanborn as a prof at UNBC in your election ridings article? If I didn't know of him, he'd be just Some Guy With Thoughts - but I can also see the benefits of not identifying him (would avoid anti-education folks just dismissing him)
That's it for my Some Person With Thoughts lol, thanks as always!
