Break and enter suspect caught sleeping on couch
That’s the subject line of a news release that went out from the Prince George RCMP yesterday. It reads:
The incident began shortly before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024, when a resident on the 5100-block of North Nechako Road reported a rock had been thrown through a window of their home and they could hear a man talking outside. While police officers were responding to this report and searching for the suspect, a second report came in from the 3200-block of Riverview Road of an unknown man walking into a person’s home and leaving after asking the home owner to call 9-1-1. Another call was received a short time later from a resident on the 3300-block of Rosia Road after they heard someone attempt to gain entry through their front door. The suspect was caught by police around 5:30 a.m. at a residence on the 3500-block of Rosia Road, where he was located sleeping on a couch at that home.
Investigators are extending their thanks to the people who contacted police with information on the suspect’s whereabouts, several of whom could see him on their video surveillance passing through the area, as it assisted in ultimately tracking him down, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
The suspect was arrested by police officers and transported to the Prince George RCMP Detachment, where he was released back into the community later that day on an Undertaking with a future court date. The suspect is known to police.
This investigation remains ongoing.
Go T-wolves
The men’s Timberwolves basketball team went into the Canada West championship seeded 12th out of 12. Now they are in the final four after upsetting first UBC, then Manitoba. Here’s hoping that keeps up — good year for Prince George athletics.

It's awesome to hear about the Chuck Chin Legacy bench - it can be so hard to learn about initiatives like this when they happen in exclusive groups.
