A low pressure system over the Gulf of Alaska will bring snow to parts of the northern and central BC interior beginning Wednesday morning and continuing until Friday morning. Light flurries on Wednesday will transition to more consistent snowfall by Wednesday night, continuing through Friday.
Snowfall may be heavy at times on Thursday and Thursday night as the system moves across the central BC interior. Conditions are expected to improve Friday as the system moves eastward and away from BC. Snowfall amounts for the period are expected to be between 20 to 40 cm with the higher amounts most likely near the western slopes of the Rockies. However, there is uncertainty where the band of heaviest snow will occur, especially for the Stuart-Nechako, Prince George, and Cariboo regions. The forecasted snowfall amounts across these regions may change as the event nears and confidence increases.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) and Farmhouse Catering announce today that Locals by Farmhouse, the on-site restaurant, and Gourmet Express Café will conclude operations at YXS on November 28, 2024. After two successful years of providing exceptional dining experiences at the Prince George Airport, Farmhouse Catering is refocusing its business direction and returning to its roots exclusively in catering services.
Food services play a vital role in enhancing the traveler experience, and the PGAA is actively seeking a new tenant to provide food services at the airport. During this transition, passengers are encouraged to plan accordingly. To ease the inconvenience, the PGAA will offer complimentary catered service for a limited time in the departures lounge.
One thing I’ve always been curious about is who is eating at the airport? Or maybe more to the point — who is eating there out of necessisity? I have heard of some people going there just to eat at the restaurant because they enjoyed it but I have been curious if there’s anyone who is dining there because they have to, the way I will sometimes get a Carl Jr’s breakfast at YVR because it’s the only option that will let me make my connecting flight. The advantage of the Prince George airport is you don’t have to arrive unreasonably early for departures and (I don’t think?) you are often there waiting for a connecting flight (if ever? someone can correct me). So generally speaking the forced need for food isn’t there.

I will often take the "stupid early" flight out of PG. My connection to Wpg in Vancouver is always very short, and there is no food on the PG-Vancouver flight. So that means from the time I get to the airport to the time there is food service on the Wpg flight it's 6 hours or more. Having the option for something, anything, at YXS is good. Mind you, I could never manage their breakfast sandwiches with whatever that sauce was on them. And their coffee was not awesome. Always very tinny. But anyway. It was something.
(Someone needs to mount a campaign to end the storage of coffee in metal containers. I'll get on that.)
I follow in my father's footsteps of being one of those arrive-way-to-early-to-the-airport travellers so I would say I qualify as an airport restaurant frequent flyer.
