It's wild how the best Prince George meme page is also the official city page
And is Prince George sustainable? Plus the library is open on Sundays, again
Listen, until Northern Capital Memes (no relation) comes back, it’s wild that our best meme page for Prince George is also the the official city of Prince George page. And it is legitimately good. Like, look at this:
It’s meta, it’s self-referential, it’s something you might not quite get if you’re not properly online/local. The last one… *chef’s kiss.* Well done.
We set a new record for trick or treaters with 137 coming to our house. You can share how many you got on the official treat counter form from CBC and you can share them with me by leaving a comment. No real themes or trends to the costumes this year that I noticed - just a mix of witches, cops, firemen, superheroes, Minions and whatever else.
Reminder: if you have leftover pumpkins, the pigs need them.

The ultimate rejoinder to “kids these days” complaints.
The Citizen has also published a photo gallery of kids costumes over the years.
Is Prince George sustainable?
I got an email about this talk happening today from 3:30 to 4:30 pm at UNBC and online.
Over the last three decades, “sustainability” has been core to the discipline of urban planning. To support sustainable community development, growth management policies favour a shift away from low-density urban sprawl, and towards patterns of urbanization that favour dense, compact and recentralized development. In this presentation, I will briefly explore the history of planning in Prince George and discuss how past practices have contributed to the “big” urban challenges of today. Following this, I will highlight several recent research projects, to illustrate current development trends in Prince George – while also reflecting on the future prospects of Prince George as a “sustainability community.”
It’s room 7-238 and online information is here.
