one side note re: Airbnb. I was working and staying in Williams Lake last week and had a look at real estate listings. There is a house for sale that was converted to four 1-bedroom suites for short term/Airbnb rentals, for the price of $590K. The thing that got me was the final sentence in the description: "this property is any affluent investors dream."
After reading that and the Highams' irateness, I really hope the NDP's legislation does force more "affluent investors" into selling on the market to increase supply and get prices down somewhat.

The next municipal election is in 2026 giving the mayor and council 3 more years.
oh good, it is three more years, not two. I was wondering if I lost a year and didn't know it.
